My passion for providing this service grew from my personal experience moving my parents from their home of over 45 years to Dallas to be closer to me. We had discussed them moving for several years, but I saw first hand how just the thought of a move overwhelmed them. They didn't know where to start.
Their reluctance resulted in a crisis move which was difficult for all involved. My goal is to spare families of the angst we endured by allowing you to keep your family relationships intact, while we coordinate and manage all the aspects of the move. This will allow you to be emotionally supportive of your loved one while we handle all the details.
My strength is in seeing a need and solving the problem by evaluating the scope of a project and breaking it down into smaller manageable parts to reduce stress. In our business, we are part counselors, movers, designers and handymen. I pride myself on being a "can do person" and will be an advocate for you and your move. We work hard so the results we deliver are the results you expect.
I graduated from Southwestern University with degrees in Business & Spanish. I am a certified CPR, AED and First Aid Instructor. I completed the Front Door and Cornerstone Training with NASMM to become a Certified Senior Move Manager (cSMM). My professional background is in marketing and customer service.
I have recently downsized since our youngest left for college. I understand the emotional process of letting go of things and transitioning from the home where you raised your children. Not only did our rightsizing benefit my husband and myself by allowing us the freedom to spend time doing the things we enjoy, we felt it was the greatest gift we could give our children for the future.
I am the creative one. I am a problem solver and pride myself on being very organized (okay, some would consider me a bit of a perfectionist). After raising my son and living here for over 20 years, I will always consider Texas home. I believe that after a long and hectic day, everyone deserves to have a feeling of calm when they walk in the door.
My tried and true method for managing a move comes from years of experience relocating my family around the country. We all know the stress and chaos associated with a move, and it has always helped me to plan ahead so I can have my home set up within a day or two. I do not like to live out of boxes (there is that perfectionism surfacing again).
I have always been the "go to girl" when someone needs assistance cleaning out a basement or an attic, or just organizing a closet. Sometimes it takes a third party to be objective when sorting through others belongings and being able to pay tribute to their memory and history without feeling the need to save everything. I certainly understand the emotional aspect of "rightsizing" no matter what the reason.
My creativity and eye for design keep me well balanced. My degree in Landscape Architecture taught me the principles of design. I have developed a true passion for people and interiors. My background includes urban planning; real estate staging and interior design. I became a Certified Staging Specialist (CSS) and Certified Redesign Specialist (CRS) prior to starting a staging and redesign business in 2006. I love transforming a home for sale, as well as creating the home of your dreams by using your existing furniture and accessories through redesign. I am a Senior Redesign Professional (SRP) and have completed both the Front Door and Cornerstone Training with NASMM to become a Certified Senior Move Manager (cSMM).
I believe every home tells a story and I look forward to hearing yours. Let me help you make your next house a "home". Move out...move in...move on, to creating new memories.
